The TravelSupermarket portal on the basis of Euromonitor's data compiled a list of cities that will face a huge influx of tourists in 7 years.
So, the leader was Jakarta, where the number of guests for this time will double, writes Lonely Planet.
If in 2017 in the capital of Indonesia arrived 3.6 million tourists, then by 2025 there are expected 6.2 million.
Such popular tourist destinations as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Venice and even Everest, continue to languish with the ever-growing number of travelers. However, around the world there are many less well-known locations that can soon experience a similar tourist boom.
In general, 24 out of 25 most rapidly developing tourist destinations are located in Asia. India has the largest number of destinations that will be in high demand by 2025, including Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai.
The only such city outside of Asia is called Cairo. According to forecasts, the number of tourists in the capital of Egypt by 2025 will increase by 87%.
So, in the top 10 most rapidly developing tourist destinations included Jakarta (Indonesia), Denpasar (Indonesia), Jaipur (India), Cairo (Egypt), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Chennai (India), Agra (India), Phuket (Thailand) , Delhi (India) and Siem Reap (Cambodia).
