First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Galibarenko Natalia says that Ukrainians should not expect the introduction of a visa-free regime with the European Union on 1 January 2015.

She said this at a press conference in Kiev. Galibarenko clarified that the EU is now expected "effective implementation of the legislation on visa-free regime."

"This applies to many areas: border security, anti-corruption, anti-discrimination law enforcement cooperation on border security and the main question - print biometric passports", - she said.

According to First Deputy Minister, in September and October in Ukraine will be two expert missions of the European Union, which will monitor the implementation of the second phase of the Action Plan on visa liberalization.

Galibarenko said that he could not predict when the EU will decide on the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians.

"As for the timing, I do not advocate any deadlines, since this question depends not only on Ukraine. At the European Union and tough enough to lengthy procedures with respect to this. The European Union must first see the reports of expert missions, then take a technical solution then - political. course, we want a hard time - six months, but it will not mean that from 1 January 2015, even if all is done, we will have a visa-free regime. so do not give rise to such expectations, then to not be frustrating, "- said Galibarenko.
