New flight Lviv Riga
The new flight Lviv-Riga, which the Latvian airline airBaltic opened in early April 2019, will be operated on a seasonal basis until the end of October 2019, as well as the Odessa-Riga flight.
“At the moment, airBaltic does not plan to extend the season of flights to Odessa and Lviv. The airline is still analyzing the results of work on the routes in the summer season of 2019 and will decide on work in the winter schedule later with the opening of ticket sales after the decision has been made, ”the press office of airBaltic told avianews.com.
Now airBaltic flies between Lviv and Riga four flights a week on the 76-seat regional turboprop aircraft Bombardier Q400. Thus, the carrier's carrying capacity on the route is 608 seats per week in both directions.
According to the airline, during the first 5 months of 2019, it transported more than 65,000 passengers on three Ukrainian routes (Kiev-Riga, Odessa-Riga and Lviv-Riga), which exceeded the result for the same period last year by 38%.
The largest carrying capacities are presented on the Kiev-Riga line. This airBaltic route serves on a year-round basis. With the start of the summer flight navigation in 2019, the airline began using more spacious Boeing 737 aircraft instead of the Bombardier Q400.
